As you are using your boat please look at the hoops, hinge pins, hinges, and tie-bars for the hinges and if you see cracks or other items that need attention, please take care of them. On C dock look under the mats that cover the hinge points and the small hinges. If a needed repair is above your skill level, please contact Paul Stephens, or you can email me and I will forward to Paul.
Trailer owners, I want to remind you to make sure that copies of your keys are with the emergency keys kept by Club Manager Rich Aaring. Rich and I have done our trailer inspection, and I'm happy to say it was a lot better than in past years. You should have received an email with our inspection report.
I think that I have taken care of all the issues with moorage, except there are several watercraft in the center island. This area should have been cleared before Memorial Day but because of the low water we still have several boats in the island. Please get them moved to their correct spot. You can check your moorage in the Member Area of the EYC website under Moorage or on the bulletin board in the restroom breezeway. Please contact me if you are still unsure.
Also be aware that I will be checking for current OR registration and I will contact you if it is out of date. The biggest issue will be for boats in the Laser rack as I have several people that would like to have a moorage there. If you do not wish to lose your Laser rack moorage, you need to get current OR numbers. I have had several people send me scans or photos of the temporary registration and that will work. Please see Moorage Rule #1 (page 53 in the 2021 Member Handbook), which states in part that moorage will not be assigned to boats that do not have current registration.
Also there has been an increase of new members requesting dry moorage for their boats. We also have several boats that have prime moorage spots that have not been used in several years—some have not even been uncovered. Starting next year if this is still the case I will be reassigning moorage location. Please see Moorage Rule #11 a. (page 54 in the 2021 Member Handbook).
Happy Sailing! Hope to see you at the club.
