EYC Sail School is a week-long, overnight camp dedicated to having fun and learning how to sail. Started more than 50 years ago, Sail School is an all-volunteer effort designed to provide sailing know-how to youngsters (and a few oldsters). It’s a week of fun and friendship for our sailing family.
Costs are kept low because members generously volunteer their time and expertise by teaching classes, leading evening activities, and cooking up a tasty breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day.
Camp fees cover instruction, use of class boat (student must provide own Laser for all Laser classes), all meals, snacks, T-shirt, evening activities, and on-site camping.
Sail School is open to EYC members and a limited number of guests. Members are active EYC members and their partners, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and siblings who are at least 8 years old. Guests are those who are not related to members as defined above.

Take A Sail School Student Sailing
On Thursday evening during Sail School, students have the opportunity to participate in the club’s Thursday night racing! Students of all ages ( ages 8 to adult) may choose to ride on a racing boat, the race committee or rescue boat, or sail on a boat cruising the lake taking it all in. Students participating in this opportunity represent all skill levels and receive a 30-minute orientation on Thursday morning. Stories of the adventure are shared on Friday.
