Port Captain Report May 2021

As we move into the summer months and as the club opens up more, remember to keep the area around your boat clean and cut the grass. If you do not cut your grass under your trailer of boat and the club does it, you will be charged a mowing fee. This also applies to the people that have their boats on the back lot and the center island.

I would like to ask that as you use the floating dock that you check your hinge pins and hair clips. The hair clips will break and can be replace before the hinge pin falls out. This request is for moorage holders on C Dock as the other docks have had the pins replaced with bolts. The clips are a lot less expensive then the pins and they are located in the A Locker.

As the water level will not allow the use of the hoist and most boats are using the north ramp by the Youth Dock or the Catamaran Dock, please move your boat so others can use the ramps to float their boats. I would ask Thistle sailors if they are going to sail, please check out the cat ramp to see if it will work for you. There are about three open spots by the cats and with their new docks it may work. I have heard of one or two members having issues with the hoist basin. Please be careful if you are going to set your boat in the water with the hoists.

Please check your OR registration and make sure you are up-to-date. We have several Lasers and other boats that do not have current registration stickers, or no registration stickers at all. Current registration is required by EYC (and the Sheriff will be checking), so please check yours.

Hope to see you at the lake when things calm down and open up.
