Port Captain Report November 2019

I will be checking and billing any boats that are on the grounds for winter storage in the next week or two. Check the 2019 Member Handbook for rates on page 27 and page 70, Article 5 section 4 of the by laws. If your boat is on the grounds when I check you will be billed for the total winter storage. As in the past I am taking pictures of all boats on the grounds. There will be no prorating after EYC has billed.

If you are using EYC grounds for winter storage, cover your boat to keep it dry and safe. Make sure your name an OR numbers are on your trailer so I do not have to mess up your cover. If you park in the island, have your boat facing west, and your name and OR numbers on the tongue of your trailer. That way I will not need to remove your cover to read your OR numbers. This is a big issue with the catamarans so please check that you have your OR numbers on the trailer. EYC ground rules state that members must have their names on the tongue of trailers.

If you have sold your boat to a member and have not contacted me, you will be billed for the storage to the boat. To avoid this situation, please send me an e-mail telling me that have sold your boat and the name of the new owner.

Starting in December—or maybe a little sooner—we will start sailing Radio-controlled one meters at Golden Ponds in the Bethel area. If you are interested or have questions, feel free to contact me.

Last but not least, please check your docks and fingers to make sure that everything is still okay. It is a lot easier to do when the water is out. Also you may find that pair of pliers that you thought you had donated to the water god, and I can tell you he does not know how to take care of your tools.
