Ahoy EYC, our sailing season is now in full swing and the lake is full of water! The Dick Brust Sail School is full of students eager to learn how to sail. All committee assignments are filled and, Most importantly, we have Hired two very capable employees. Jodie, our new Club Host, is quickly whipping the grounds into shape and I hope everyone has had a chance to get to know him. Kaitlyn is turning out to be a fantastic Club Manager and is exceeding all of our expectations. We have hosted the Memorial Day, Live on the Edge, Outlaw, and Gorge Invite regattas. We certainly are a busy club! However, my job as Commodore is not to look backwards but to look forwards. Coming up in a couple of weeks is the Dick Brust Sail School! The best, most funnest week of the year. Following that is the fourth of July and the first week of the youth sailing program that we are taking over from the city. All of the slots for non-members have been filled and we still have open spots for EYC kids. So if you want to have sailing instruction at EYC you have to sign up! The unfilled spots will be filled by kids on the city wait list. Please take advantage of this opportunity and sign up for EYC youth sailing!! Go to EYC website, log into the members only section, scroll to the bottom and choose your dates! Get your kids out sailing and enjoying a sport/pastime that they can do their entire life.
Finally, I would like to thank all of you that volunteer for work party, sail school, regattas, committees and the many many other jobs that need to be done to support such an active club.
Happy Sailing!
