The Memorial Day Regatta is coming up and I would like to request that everyone with a boat in the center parking area to get it moved in time for this regatta. If you were not planning to put your boat this weekend, please move it to the back row along the fence on the west side of the grounds.
As we move into the summer months, keep the area around your boat clean and cut the grass. This includes any and all boats on the back lot. Look for and pick up the little bits of trash that may blow into your area. If we all just pick up the little bit then no one has to pick up a lot. And it only takes a second for all of us to pick up one item and throw it away. Remember to take your empty cans and bottles home or to the recycling station next to the clubhouse.
I would request that as you use the floating docks, please check your hinge pins and hair clips. The hair clips will break and can be replaced before the hinge pin falls out. The clips are a lot less expensive than the pins.
And as always, check your OR registration and make sure your boat’s stickers are up-to-date. We have several Lasers and other boats that do not have current registration stickers, or no registration stickers, soplease check yours. As I have stated in past newsletters, I will be making the rounds and checking boats for current OR stickers and if it is not current, you will be losing that moorage.
And lastly, for trailer moorage holders, be sure that the club has a key to your door, that you have an operational 10 lb fire extinguisher (Moorage Rule 17) , and no extension cords on the deck (Moorage rule 17e.). Rich Aaring, a Trailer committee member, and I will be doing the inspection of the trailers in the next week or two.
See you at the lake.
