As the season comes to an end, I have had several emails about winter storage. You may know that I take pictures of all the boats that I count on the grounds at the end of the season. The winter billing season begins on November 1 (see Page 27 in the 2020 Member Handbook for more on Winter Storage dates and fees).
I will be checking and billing any boat that is on the grounds for winter storage in the first two weeks of November (see page 53, Section 8 of the EYC Bylaws). If your boat is on the grounds when I check you will be billed for the total winter storage. There will be no prorating after EYC has billed.
I would like everyone who is keeping a boat on the grounds this winter to have their name and
OR numbers on the trailer as this helps in the checking of boats. Also, please have the boats in the center island facing west (away from the lake).
As most know, we had a wind event this season and several members found out why we have requirements standard for moorage lines, snubbers, and chafing gear.
If you do not know how to tie and snubber your watercraft, you can ask me or Paul Stephens about the correct way to secure your boat. You can also refer to pages 58-60 in the 2020 Member Handbook for EYC's mooring standards. Please keep in mind that our standards are the minimum, not the maximum.
